Question: I did a Dial Before You Dig request 8 months ago when we first started tendering for this job and I still have all the plans on file. What do you mean you won’t come out and locate them until I get new plans?

Answer:

All of the Dial Before You Dig plans sent out have a “use by” date. Each authority sets its own date, and you will need to read their duty of care paperwork (which comes with the plans) to check exactly how long they are good for. As a general rule of thumb, the majority will last for 30 days. After that, an updated request needs to be submitted.
